Murugan Shobana

Murugan takes care of Mahindra Holidays and Resorts Limited’s procurement department for 40 resorts all over India, which includes setting up the purchase and stores department function for the new resorts including recruitment of the right candidate.  He has a total of 60 staffs working under him currently, and has an annual budget of over USD 7 Million. 

He is very proud to be able to bring about savings of Rs. 50 Crores for the organisation. The morale of staff was very low when he took over the function due to the remote locations of the properties, which makes sourcing very difficult. When he took over, he was able to organise the department, set up a good training program and increase the morale of staffs. He also initiated and hosted an annual event which changed the outlook of his people, and also the central purchase contract which not only brought savings but also eased the procurement process overall.
