Penny Chong

Penny is the Head of Procurement at Maybank Kim Eng, an investment banking arm of Maybank (a Malaysian universal bank). She has more than 15 years of experience in various industries from hospitality, IT and financial services. Over the past five and a half years she has been with the Maybank Group. She joins the Maybank Kim Eng Group in 2014 and setup the procurement department in year 2015, leading the Maybank Kim Eng overall procurement transformation journey. 

Penny is leading a team of 3, has standardized the procurement process and currently centralized sourcing activities and contract management for the Maybank Kim Eng groups of companies, presence in 10 countries. Her team is managing procurement spend with a total yearly budget close to RM300mil. 

Within the 3 years transformation journey, Penny has achieved significant savings, built good business partner relationship with the key stakeholders in the organization and amplified trust from the business units.
