Procurement Challenges- A ProcureCon Europe Benchmarking Report

As businesses emerge from the recent recession into a fragmented
supplier ecosystem, a normal approach to creating value through cost saving alone is no longer relevant.

Instead, businesses are tasking procurement to effect enterprisewide change, including implementing process improvement, and operating beyond the contract with suppliers to co-create value, and exploring payment innovation.

Undertaking these initiatives well requires a different skill set, understanding how these skills need to be developed is a key part of this year’s survey.

To find out how, we interviewed senior procurement executives with job titles including: Chief Procurement Officer, Head of Indirect Procurement, Procurement Director, Head of Category Management and Head of Global Sourcing among many others of similar standing.

Perfect Alignment- Bringing Procurement and Finance Together to achieve P2P Excellence

There's no two ways about it. A well-planned and executed deployment of procure-to-pay (P2P) technology creates better operational dynamics between an enterprise procurement organization and its partners in finance.

But get it wrong and you can do more harm than good. No doubt, P2P software can make life easy for procurement teams. But procurement has a direct impact on the entire value chain, particularly on downstream teams in accounts payable and finance, and a P2P software might not be able to address the requirements and challenges of these teams.

The bottom line is: A procurement solution that is a headache for your partners in the enterprise is no solution at all.

This paper explains how enterprises can engineer a win-win scenario for all the stakeholders in procure-to-pay technology selection and deployment.
