Andrew joined Standard Chartered Bank in November 2016, and is based in Singapore with responsibility for the Bank’s strategic sourcing, vendor management and requisition to pay processes, global travel programme, as well as second line governance of Third Party Risk Management. The Bank has recently launched a public-cloud based technology solution for supply chain management including TPRM, and has made substantial progress in improving its Procurement return on investment to world-class levels.
Andrew has more than 20 years’ experience in purchasing and supply chain. He was previously the Director of Support Enablers and Inventory Management at the UK Ministry of Defence. In this role, he was a 2*equivalent-ranked civil servant and reduced the UK Defence inventory by a third to £32bn, saving British taxpayers over £2bn while supporting 26 concurrent overseas military operations. Andrew also successfully delivered a £1.6bn Logistics information services programme as part of this role.
Prior to joining the Ministry of Defence, Andrew held a number of senior supply chain management and Procurement roles at IBM. These included leading the outsourced ThinkPad supply chain from Raleigh North Carolina in the US, becoming a Partner in the Industrial Sector consulting practice in Asia Pacific, and heading up solutions and delivery for the supply chain management Business Process Outsourcing offering.
Andrew graduated from Cambridge University and is a Companion of the Chartered Institute of Management.He was recently named as one of the CIPS Supply Management Procurement Power List of the most influential people in Procurement.
Andrew is married with three children, and is a keen sailor, golfer and skier. Andrew is also an avid Leeds United football fan.
