Dr Christina SS Ooi is currently on a personal ESG mission, with a higher emphasis on the “S”, paying it forward to procurement professional fraternities, communities, and society at large.
From C-suite to the Board, she currently serves as a Board Member of the Regional Board of Malaysia for Chartered Management Institute (CMI), UK's only chartered professional body for manager accreditation.
A criminal lawyer by training, this former CPO for Asia Pacific (APAC) with diverse industry experience is also a speaker, mentor, published author, thought leader, 2024 LinkedIn Top Voice for Career Management, People Management, Communications Management, Negotiation, Executive Management, and Leadership. An acknowledged expert in her field, she brings with her 34 years of corporate senior management experience in key leadership positions across the APAC region, notably in procurement transformation. Her professional experience has been with global and Malaysian organizations across APAC in diverse industries - technology, telecommunications, aviation, agribusiness, and industrial gases and technologies. She and her teams won awards, accolades and esteemed recognition from procurement fraternities, both globally and in the APAC region.
She has served on a number of Advisory Boards and award judging panels for a number of procurement institutions and conferences. She makes time to serve as a volunteer career mentor with a number of organizations: Talent Corporation Malaysia (https://talentcorp.com.my/) under the Malaysia Ministry of Human Resources, Project Girls for Girls Malaysia (https://projectg4g.org/chapter/malaysia/), empowers women with the courage, vision and skills to take on public leadership, and Talentbank (https://www.talentbankgroup.com/), connecting talent and industries in Malaysia.
Dr Christina holds a Ph.D. in Law, two Master's degrees (Master of Laws and MBA), and two Bachelor degrees, Bachelor of Laws [Hons.] and Bachelor of Arts [Hons.] in Communications. Dr Christina is also a certified Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya where she was called to the Malaysian Bar. Her relentless pursuit and passion in cross-cultural talent management led her to publish her first book, “Surviving the War for Talent in Asia: How Innovation Can Help.”
Now based in Kuala Lumpur, Dr Christina is currently working on her second book.
