Head of Supply Chain Port of Tanjung Pelepas

Ts. Dr. Irwana Abd Malek joined Port of Tanjung Pelepas as the General Manager of the Supply Chain Department on 23rd July 2018 and was later promoted to Head of Supply Chain Division on 15th October 2021. She holds a Doctorate in Supply Chain, a Master of Science in Human Resource Development and a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She achieved an international recognition from United Kingdom as a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS). She also possesses a Certified Professional Technologist in Logistic from Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). Prior to joining PTP, she has served with various companies under different capacities and functions such as Head of Supply Chain at OI-BJC Malaysia. She was also previously the Head of Planning, Procurement System and Logistic at Siegwerk Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Head of Planning for TDK-Lambda (M) Sdn Bhd and Planning Manager at Nemic Lambda (M) Sdn Bhd. With more than 25 years of leadership experiences under her belt spanning across the entire spectrum of supply chain management and operation in various industries and portfolios covering the electronics, chemical industry, glass manufacturing and port operations. She went through a transformation journey with the change of strategy, succeeded in improving the Procurement & Tender Department process efficiency and breaking the eighteen (18) year legacy issues. She also involved in developing the ERP system for the supply chain and production, managing and controlling 3PL warehousing system and procedure, planning, material management, logistics distribution and inventory management. Ts. Dr. Irwana has done many great projects, especially under Supply Chain, one of it is the initiation of the consignment project, which is a consumable vending machine for stakeholders. The adoption of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in the supply chain empowered stakeholders to work smarter in assisting day-to-day operations and resulted the reduction of inventory holding value by 33%.
