Leon Sun

Leon is Head of Procurement and Cost Efficiency, Greater China - InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). He is responsible for Hotel and Corporate Procurement strategy/organisation development, Procurement operation, E-Commerce buying platform design and implementation, Cost efficiency, and Responsible Procurement for IHG GC. Leon is a Strategic and Dynamic Senior Executive with over 15 years of experience in Procurement, E-Commerce, Business Strategy, Globalization and Cross-Cultural Team Leadership. He led the design and development of hospitality procurement Eco-environment “IHG Mall”, which is the first digitalized hotel procurement Eco-environment in Greater China hotel industry. He is recognized for a positive ‘can-do’ outlook and an entrepreneurial mind-set. He is a proven global organization builder & business leader with extensive end-to-end business experience. 

Prior to joining IHG in 2014, he was Head of Digital Commerce Merchandising of Converse brand in Nike for Greater China. Prior to Nike, Leon was Head of Seller Management of Amazon Marketplace in China, which he founded and led Amazon Account Management team and established Amazon Marketplace Account Management Operating Model. He also spent 6 years at Tesco in various commercial and operation roles, including overseas working experience at Tesco global headquarter in the UK. He demonstrates success in bridging cultures, and managing HQ/Regional expectations. 

Leon graduated from University of Bath with a Master Degree in Multimedia Technology. He also holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science.
